Dec 12, 2017 - Cow Killers and Transfer Day

Hello all!
On Tuesday, we went to a couple of stores then went out to eat at Hodads in Ocean Beach. We later watched the sunset at Sunset Cliffs. After, we played and walked down the beach. I was watching the surfers and wishing I was surfing right now. The waves weren't good though - but that's ok. We came back to the flat and had dinner at the Glenn's house. Their neighbor came over to have a lesson and it went really well.
On Wednesday, we went with the Spanish Elders and Sisters to go kill a cow and do other service activities. We had to go to a lesson with a new investigator... but she stood us up! We called and texted her many times but she didn't answer. We moved our last district meeting from Friday to today (because the Elders and Sisters who are going home have their departure activity) and then we came back to the flat.
On Thursday, we went to the church to have one of my companions finish MyPlan since he's leaving next week. We also did other zone leader stuff before we had some lunch and headed to our last district meeting with Hillsdale and Jamul.
After that, we came back to the church for other stuff and met with some members and investigators. We had dinner with the Hohnsteins and did The Taco Challenge. We also found out that there were wild fires that could come down to our area - I'll let you know if we need to be evacuated.
Friday, we had morning sports and got ready. Then we drove Elder Vasquez to President's house to have departure activities. Elder Brooks and I went to do our weekly planning session and then tried to visit some investigators and referrals. We helped the ward set up the Christmas party for tomorrow and had dinner with the Kerns. Then we went to see a less-active member before we picked up Elder Vasquez from the departure activities.

Saturday, we went to the church to rehearse the little play we're in for the ward Christmas party - I didn't like it because I hate plays and being in them. Then someone in the ward took us to lunch and we tied to see an investigator before we did some service for someone in the ward. We later met up with Granite Hills to do a baptismal interview and went to the ward Christmas party.

Sunday, we went to ward council and had church. Then we set up for the stake Christmas choir concert and had a late lunch with the Tilleys - it was good. We had a lesson with an investigator and we taught her about the plan of salvation. We dropped off Elder Vasquez at the Christmas choir practice before the big show while Elder Brooks and I went to get some dinner. We went back to the church to watch the concert and it was good. We took down the decorations and chairs and whatnot. Monday, we had our last zone breakfast because tomorrow is Transfer Day. The zones are getting bigger - going from 11 zones to 6 zones (oh and I'm going to be staying here in El Cajon). Then we went back to the flat and both of my companions are packing because one of my companions is going home and the other is leaving the area. I'm getting a new companion - Elder Kjar. He is in my zone and is my district leader (he's also from Murray, Utah). We went over to the Hillsdale building to do a baptismal interview for the Arabic Elders and back to the flat to finish up packing. We worked on stake packets for a little bit before we went to see a less-active member and had dinner with the Dunns. We had a good lesson with an investigator about the commandments and she is also preparing herself for baptism this Friday the 15th. Tuesday, we went to the Mission Valley building to get our new companion(s).
