November 14th, 2017 - Drug Lord, Gang, Knifes, 9mm, Strep Throat, Member of the Seventy
Hello everyone,
On Monday, we went to the mission office and shop. Then, we had a multi-zone get together and played games. After that, we had a dinner appointment to get to and met with the Arabic Elders to visit a member of the Hillsdale ward. He's going to accompany my companion for this mission tour tomorrow.
On Tuesday, we had a mission tour and Elder Erich W. Kopischke, a member of the Seventy, was there to talk to us. It was really good but long - it started at 8:30am and ended about 4pm so that was a long day. We had dinner and went to go find a potential investigator but found her brother instead. He's really interested, so he became a new investigator! We had a lesson and it went well. We talked to a member about some stuff.
Wednesday, we had MLC from 8am and ended about 1pm so that was kind of a long day. We also had Elder Kopischke there presiding and talking to us. We went to the mission office and took a nap. We went to see 2 investigators and went to mutual and got drugs because Elder Brooks isn't feeling well.
Thursday, one of the Arabic Elders had strep throat so Elder Brooks stayed with him because he wasn't feeling well lately. My other companion had a choir rehearsal so we went to that for a couple of hours and had lunch after. We had 5 appointments and they all went really well!! So it was a pretty busy day.
On Friday, I stayed to take care of Elder Wankier, one of the Arabic Elders who's not feeling well while my other companions are in DLC and teaching all day. Elder Wankier and I watched movies, took naps, and other stuff, so that's pretty much my day.
So something pretty crazy happened that evening - Elder Wankier and I were making some dinner while all of a sudden we heard four shots fired close by and I knew that was a 9 on our emergency scale! So we dead bolted our door and took cover just in case.
Saturday, we had a meeting and lunch with our ward mission leader and then tried to meet with an investigator. He was busy and our other appointment canceled, so we decided to do weekly planning and go find less-active members. We ended up talking to a drug lord, head-leader of the Pecker-Wood gang (a known gang throughout the West Coast). He's a known killer and from the hood. He said he was going to buy us some sick knifes, pen/mace/taser and take us out to dinner - he's freaking dope! He and his wife want to be baptized and he has been sober for about 6 months. We have his number so it only takes a phone call to get anything we want.
Sunday, we went to ward council and church. Then we took the sacrament to someone in the ward and had lunch with a member. We came back to the flat and did our studies and then had dinner. We dropped off one of my companions at the stake choir rehearsal while my other companion and I went to go find some investigators and potential investigators. We had 2 appointments and they went well.
Monday, it started like a normal day when we went and played soccer chair and then all of a sudden we got an emergency call from a less-active and his mom (who is an investigator). He called us because he was seeing ghost and they were talking to him. So it was a pretty intresting morning. We then went to Tom's house to do some stuff there. Then we went to go find some investigators and see how they're doing. We had an interesting night with the same situation as this morning, so we called the bishop and he came over and talked and it was pretty crazy, so that's my night.
