Oct 24th, 2017 - As Big As My Face

Hello y'all!

Tuesday afternoon, we were at the mission office and doing some stuff there and then went shopping. We went out to lunch and the Cali burrito was the size of my head! We then went to the Santee ward building with the other missionaries and played basketball and other games. After that, we came back to the flat and got ready for the evening. We picked up a priest to come with us to visit some members at the care center facility and then met with a potential investigator named Loghman who became a Christian a couple of years ago and wants answers.

Wednesday, we got some stuff done then went to the Arabic's flat and had some lunch with them, it was so good! After that, we went to the church to get more stuff done - but then found out the LDS internet is down for now. So that made some stuff that we're trying to get done difficult. We had 4 appointments but 2 of them fell through so we went and finished weekly planning until dinner and then went to our last 2 appointments then mutual. Both appointments were short but went really well.

Thursday was so busy with lots of appointments. We had lunch with the Arabic Elders again and then continued to finish weekly planning. One of our investigators moved and didn't tell us and she also hasn't been answering her phone. We had a lesson with her just a couple of days ago, so that's weird and kinda frustrating. We had 5 appointments but 3 fell through. Then I did an exchange with some elders in our zone.

Friday was a wet and rainy morning and then Tom made us blueberry pancakes! After we finished breakfast, the sun came out and started to clear the sky. We then had district meeting and lunch. Elder Kjar and I went and did two service projects, one of them we were pulling out stumps and the other one was cleaning the pool (getting the leaves out) at an investigator's house. I almost fell in and that would have been REALLY bad. Luckily I didn't because I wouldn't know how to explain this situation to my President.
Then Elder Kjar and I went to less-active members and investigators and just talked to them. One of them is a less active and we talked for a bit. we can tell that he still has a testimony and knows that this is the only true church. He also has a BoM on the shelf but is afraid that his girlfriend isn't going to accept him. She is also afraid and doesn't like the Mormons because she thinks that we're weird, different, and not human. He's been trying to tell her that we're all the same... so I don't know what's going through her head.

Saturday morning we played ultimate frisbee with the Granite Hills, Arabic, and Espanol Elders and then we came back to get ready to go to a foot doctor for one of my companions. Then we went to lunch with the ward mission leader and his son and had a coordination meeting. We also helped with cleaning up some activity that was held at the church building. We had an appointment but it was canceled since she wasn't feeling well. So we visited some less-active members and then we had a dinner at the Webers.

Sunday, we went to ward council and church and I also said the closing prayer in sacrament meeting. Then we had a "linger-longer" which is a pot-luck lunch after church and the food was delicious. We came back to the flat and planned for the day and got things done. We went to a less-active member's house for dinner and talked. One of my companions went to stake choir while my other companion and I went to do other stuff. We also accidentally locked our keys in the clerk's office. We later met up to go and find less-active members and talk to investigators for the rest of the evening. Monday wasn't too busy but we have a new investigator since yesterday. He is the father of Kylie (our first baptism) and he wants to change and become a better person for himself and Kylie. We got things done and had a late lunch with a member in the ward so that was nice of them. We went to go find some investigators and less-actives for the rest of the evening. Tuesday we did some stuff in the morning and got ready. We're going to the beach later today, so that will be fun!!
