Oct 31st, 2017 - Happy Halloween and Transfers Day!

Hello everyone,

I made it through a transfer! It feels like I've been here FOREVER!!!!! 6 weeks down 6 more to go with the 12-week program. Tuesday afternoon we went to go to the office and went down to the beach and played sand 2-hand touch rugby so that was fun. It's so weird driving down in Coronado and looking at all these shops and remembering going to them when Blake got married. There was also the beach where my cousin Austin got stung by a stingray on the day of the wedding.

We then had dinner at In-N-Out, the true California restaurant. For the rest of the evening we went out to find some people. We talked to a potential investigator who said, "where's your church because I want to come" and we're like, ya for sure we will tell you that!
After, we went to talk to a member about how things are going and checked up on them. Wednesday, we did our morning things and went to make an emergency exchange for a funeral. Then, we went to find some less-actives and do some tracking. we also had a lesson which went well. We recommitted her to read the Book of Mormon daily.
After, we had a baptismal interview, then dinner. We went to the bishop's house to have a Book of Mormon study for the evening.
On Thursday, we got up super early and taught the seminary class, but I guess that's my punishment for rarely going to seminary during my Bountiful High days. Teaching the seminary class went really well. We taught them about the Book of Mormon and how they can share their testimonies about it. We also talked about how they can invite others to an activity or church. We also challenged them to read it and make commitments.
After the class, we cleaned the flat for monthly inspection. We also did our morning things and took a nap until the senior couple in our mission came to inspect the flat. Then we went to go talk to some investigators and see how they are doing.
As we drove to the church after dinner, we saw a massive fire and I swear, every cop, firefighter, and EM was there to control the fire.

Friday, we attended 2 district meetings, one in El Cajon and the other one in Alpine. We then went to find less-active members and investigators for the rest of the evening and had a scripture study with one of our investigators. Saturday, we went to go find potential investigators and less-actives. We had an appointment and it went well. We also got to go to the Ward Halloween Party and cleaned up after.

On Sunday, we went to ward council and had some investigators come to church with us. It was a good Sunday because it was the primary program! Then, we to see some less-actives. We went to the church for one of my companions' language study and the other one was in stake choir rehearsal. We went to dinner at the Shane's. The daughter is a recent convert and her parents are not members of the church. They're not interested in joining the church but love having the missionaries over! And then we had call-ins.

Monday - we had a good conversation with our neighbors. They thought that we complained to the manager that they're too loud but we told them it wasn't us. (They are really loud and we didn't tell the manager) We think it's the other neighbors that called them out. We had a great talk with a potential investigator and now she became an investigator.

We got the transfer sheet of who goes where. I stay in El Cajon with Elder Vasquez and there's a new missionary that's going to join us, so I'll still be in a trio. We did some stuff at the church and tried to meet with an investigator but she wasn't there. We did an exchange with the Arabic Elders because they were accidentally double booked for dinner so I'm going with one of the elders to dinner.

How interesting and crazy is this - I'm learning more Arabic than Spanish. I never thought that I would be learning Arabic. Who knows, I could get called as an Arabic Elder sometime on my mission!

We talked to some people at the care center before one of the 3 dinners we attended tonight. We also had a meeting with the President and Bro Seba and talked about the Arabic program that has been established in the San Diego mission. By the way, out of all the missions in the U.S, the San Diego mission is the ONLY one where the Arabic language is an official language. We went to our last dinner of the evening around 8pm and it was amazing BBQ. (even better than our second dinner which was also BBQ) The first dinner was pizza which still was good too. I just realized that I went backwards, oh well. As you can imagine, I ate way too much food this evening. Tuesday, well,  Happy Halloween and Transfers Day! We picked up a new companion Elder Brooks from Cedar City and I saw elder Pilkington and Ferrin. Then we went to Costco to shop for food.
