Hey Y'all
On Tuesday we hung out with the new zone, played soccer chair, talked and emailed. For dinner, we went to the Jamul Meat Market where we got burritos called "The Monster" which is the size of my companion's arm! Because it's Halloween, we've been asked to stay inside so we chilled with the people in our complex for the evening. Wednesday, while my companions went to the doctor's office, I stayed with the Arabic Elders to go help our neighbor with their wifi modem, so that's cool. I stayed with them for the morning and had a lesson in Arabic, so that was fun to observe. We came back to the flat and had our studies then we went to the Mormon Battalion with an investigator and had lunch with him. We also took a walk around Old Town.
We had 3 appointments today and all of them went great! We went to mutual and played games with the young men and did some stuff at the church. On Thursday, we did our morning things and went to the church to do weekly planning and had lunch. We had DLC stuff, helped set up a 50-year birthday bash for someone in the ward and met up with a member in the stake. We had a lesson and it went well. For the rest of the evening, we went to visit some members and investigators.
On Friday, we had a lesson with an investigator and it went really well then had a district meeting. Our neighbor gave us his couch so that's cool and then did some stuff at the church. We talked to less-active members and did some stuff at the church and also went to dinner at a members house. They are both FBI agents and they told us some crazy stories that sound like it could be either a book or movie or even both.
On Saturday, we helped a widow in the ward move to another place. We then had a lesson with an investigator and invited her to come to church tomorrow. Hopefully, she'll come and talk to a less-active member who is also a recent convert. We had a little emergency at the church building - there was a homeless lady taking a shower and doing laundry. She's a less-active member who's crazy. She called the bishop and he came and talked to her. It involved lots of yelling and other stuff, you get the picture. So we cleaned up after her and kicked her out. We had a lock down at the church to make sure that everything is secure. I felt like I was preparing for World War Z or something like that so that's cool I guess.
We had coordination with the ward mission leader and because it's stake conference weekend, we attended the priesthood leadership and adult session.
On Sunday, we had stake conference and it was really good because Elder Erich W. Kopischke (a member of the Seventy) came. Then we saw and talked to a less-active. While my other companion went to stake choir rehearsal, my other companion and I went to another appointment and that didn't go so well. Later we went to visit some members and less-actives and also had a little road-trip to Alpine (meeting with Tom and Jamul) to collect mileage. So this coming week is crazy, because there's a general authority speaking to us on Tuesday so we're going to have our P-day today, Monday. On Monday, we got up early to go on a hike with our zone and Spanish zone and had lunch with a less-active member. FYI, we have meetings everyday this week except for today, so crazy week especially since I'm still with ZLs!
